Oreo Poke Cake

This Oreo Poke Cake is my new favorite chocolate cake. Seriously AMAZING! Oreos baked into the cake, then chocolate syrup drizzled inside, topped with whipped cream and Oreo crumbs - it's SO EASY and SCRUMPTIOUS!
More words would only taint this cake, so I'll end there, the pictures speak for themselves. ;)

It's Yelling "MAKE ME!"

Oreo Poke Cake

1 box chocolate cake mix
1 pkg Oreo cookies
Chocolate Syrup
1 container Whipped Cream

In a mixing bowl, make chocolate cake according to box directions.

Open the oreo package and break (don't crumble, you want CHUNKS) 2 "sleeves" of oreos. (The container has 3 sections of oreos 2 go into the cake and reserved section is for the top.)

Fold the broken Oreo pieces into the batter.

Place the batter into a greased 9x13 pan. Cook according to cake mix box (about 30-35 minutes).

When done, allow to cool for 15 minutes.

Take a wooden spoon and using the handle - poke holes all through your cake.

Take the chocolate syrup and squirt syrup into the holes.

"Frost" the cake with the whipped cream.

Take the reserved Oreos and scrape out the filling. Blend the cookies into a powder. Sprinkle the Oreo powder over top of the whipped cream.

DELISH!

1 c. Creamy Peanut Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla Extract
1 c. Peanuts (I used salted blanched peanuts)
2 c. Cheerios (Add this LAST so the they don't go mushy)

Lace Knee Patches

My niece Carly came over a month a go with a pair of holey jeans and some lace. She said, "I want lace knee patches!" We made it happen.
I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was, and decided to "lace patch" a pair of my holey jeans as well! SO CUTE!

1. Turn your pants inside out.

2. Cut out a patch of lace larger than your pant rip.

3. Pin the lace to the jeans to prevent it from shifting.
Sew the lace around the pant rip.

4. Trip any excess lace, but keep a good 1/2 inch rim around the edge.

5. Turn your jeans right side out

6. Cut away any extra jean "strings" that come with ripped jeans -  so you can see the lace!

PRESTO!
You've now created lace patches for your favorite jeans you just can't get rid of!

Thanks for the idea Carly! Love you!

FHE Gospel Treasure Hunt

We love Family Home Evening. This week we went on a treasure hunt! Young or old, everyone loves treasure hunts! I am so thankful for church magazines and ideas on how to make our Family Home Evening's more meaningful. This is what we did!

1. Make a diagram of your back yard, or home.

(I let my little girl color it, she thought it was so fun to make a map of our back yard!)

2. Make your mini treasure box and coins.

Find the treasure box and coin printable HERE
(Compliments of the April 2013 Friend Magazine)

3. Draw a large X on the homemade map of where you hid your coins.

4. Let the hunt begin!

5. Once the treasure is found, Bask in the Glory - aka talk about the happiness the treasure brings to our lives.

Finish with a treat!

We made our favorite Homemade Oreo's
