Mouse Ear Headbands

Here is a little sneak peek at what my kiddos are going to be for Halloween, Disney's Mickey and Minnie Mouse. I don't live anywhere near a Disney store to purchase some "authentic" Mickey and Minnie Mouse ears, so I decided to make a "knock off" version. I grabbed a couple black headbands from the dollar store, some black card stock, and glue. Look how cute they turned out! Pretty darling if you ask me! They literally took me 5 minutes for both. Talk about an easy Halloween costume accessory!

Take any WIDE mouthed jar or canister, whatever size you want your ears to be, will be the size of the circle you trace.

Trace 4 circles onto black card stock

Cut out each circle but leave a "rectangle flap" on the bottom like so...

Glue 2 circles together but leave the "flaps" unglued

Separate the flaps and place hot glue onto the headband and the TOP flap.

Press the TOP flap down until hot glue is set.

Place glue on the BOTTOM flap and fold over the top to finish! Repeat on the other side.

If you are going for just plain mouse ears, you are done! If you want to add a bow...
Here are the instructions:

Fold a piece of card stock in half - the color is your choice- and make an oval shape along the creased edge. While cutting it out, leave a small part of the "creased" paper in tact so it stays together and you have 1 piece of paper.
Cut out a smaller oval for the middle

Glue the smaller oval on the "crease" of the "bow shape" you just made.

To place it in the right place between the ears, I turned the ears over onto the bow and traced with a pencil where the ears were. This showed me where to glue.

Glue down the bow, and you are finished! WELL DONE!
